About CARF
CARF sends a team of professionals in the behavioral health field out to clubhouses such as ours to conduct an on-site survey. While they are here, they conduct interviews with staff, clients and board members, survey our facilities, look at our business practices and policies, and determine the degree to which we meet international standards for behavioral healthcare practice and management. Achieving accreditation means that we are substantially in compliance with all standards in the programs for which accreditation is sought. What this means to our clients
Choosing CARF-accredited programs and services gives our clients the assurance that:
- Our programs or services actively involve consumers in selecting, planning and using services.
- Our programs and services have met consumer-focused, state-of-the-art international standards of performance.
- These standards were developed with the involvement and input of consumers.
- We are focused on assisting each consumer in achieving his or her chosen goals and outcomes.
About ICCD
Our Clubhouse also is a certified member of the International Center for Clubhouse Development (ICCD). ICCD-certified clubhouses have a clubhouse-specific set of 36 standards that they are expected to meet that govern club operations and structure, and are designed to guarantee that consumers (called members) are involved in all aspects of running the program. Much like the CARF accreditation process, the ICCD sends professionals in the clubhouse field out to survey the clubhouse and certify its compliance to the standards.ICCD Clubhouses, now over 300 worldwide, are founded on the realization that recovery from serious mental illness must involve the whole person in a vital and culturally sensitive community.
An ICCD Clubhouse community offers respect, hope, mutuality and unlimited opportunity to access the same worlds of friendship, housing, education, healthcare and employment as the rest of society.
