Employment Unit
The Employment Unit helps our members with resume writing, preparing
for interviews, and completing monthly and weekly statistics with employment, outreach and assisting members with their reporting of earnings to Social Security Administration.
The Unit also provides consumers with job coaching and development and helps them prepare monthly newsletters. The Unit is responsible for TE dinner preparation (to celebrate all work in/out of the
clubhouse), making invitations and assisting with scheduling
transportation for others.
We are proud of our members!
Capitol Clubhouse has a total membership of 104 active members. Of these, 11 are working in Transitional Employment Placements. Five work in Supported Employment placements, and five members currently are working in other jobs (and independently) outside of the clubhouse. We have five members who volunteer with various organizations outside of the clubhouse. Eighteen of our members are enrolled in education classes, by attending either Adult Education or who are enrolled in college.
Capitol Clubhouse has more members who are employed now, in 2010, than we have had employed in the past three years.
Other programs throughout central Maine have seen the success with the Clubhouse Model and have therefore been referring their clients to Capitol Clubhouse with the goals of building prevocational skills so they can be placed in gainful employment sights through Transitional Employment.
Thank you!
It is with sincere thanks that we, "the clubhouse staff," extend our appreciation to our members for helping us make the Capitol Clubhouse such a successful program. Your drive and ambition to better yourselves and your lives, make our jobs a true pleasure and rewarding experience!
